gilhoolie embroidered lampshades –

A little piece of art wrapped around a light.

I have been making lampshades for clients and interior designers for the last ten years but always dreamt of designing my own collection. Finally it is here! I absolutely love flowers and wildlife and am happiest when I’m either out walking my dog or sitting in my workshop or the garden, drawing in my sketchbook. These sketches have inspired this gilhoolie lampshade collection. Each lampshade is a unique little piece of art wrapped around a light.

These botanical drawings are stitched onto 100% linen fabric using my sewing machine, adding snippets of coloured cotton fabric and the odd flourish of hand embroidery as I go. Each lampshade is finished off with a delicate braid trim top and bottom. These are all one off pieces that are now for sale on here and on my Etsy shop.
