Come and learn the basics of appliqué and machine embroidery in a 3 hour workshop at my home in Maidenhead, Berkshire. Homemade cakes and plenty of cups of tea included as well as lots of tips on embroidery.
All materials included (plain natural coloured linen fabric to embroider onto and fabric remnants for appliqué) .
You will need to come prepared with a simple design (but I have some flower sketches you can trace otherwise so don’t worry if you can’t draw!) We will transfer the design onto a linen fabric background and add machine embroidered appliqué. You are welcome to bring scraps of fabric you would like to use for the appliqué but I have a stash you can raid otherwise! After the workshop you can go away and make this into either:
- A tea towel
- A cushion front
- A small drum lampshade
NB We wouldn’t make these up in the workshop – but feel free to book a lampshade workshop too.
