Promises, promises…

November 1, 2011 Julie GardnerLeave a comment

I had lots of fun a couple of weeks ago taking photos of my friend's beautiful little girl sitting on a gilhoolie beanbag and pouffe (with some bunting in the background). Thank you so much Sandi, I may ask again if that's okay! I know the model looks gorgeous but I'm also hoping these photos… Continue reading Promises, promises…

This week I'm putting the finishing touches to things and I thought I'd practice arranging all my creations ready for Thursday evening. I put this display together in half an hour before I rushed off on the school run, but you get the idea! As you can see, I got the bunting bug last week… Continue reading Models required!

Two pouffes and a bag…

October 11, 2011October 11, 2011 Julie Gardner1 Comment

I've been busy making things to fill my stall next Thursday and  I think I'm nearly there, thank goodness. Here are two of the gilhoolie pouffes. The bright one on the left is made from Amy Butler fabric (I have some left over so will probably make a lampshade with that) and the one on… Continue reading Two pouffes and a bag…

Flower power!

As we're having a second summer this week, I just had to show you these flowery lampshades I made from Amy Butler and Heather Bailey cotton fabric. They measure 20cm in diameter by 18cm high but I'd like to see them on a big drum lampshade, hopefully someone else will too?! It's been a lovely… Continue reading Flower power!

No I haven't started tweeting on Twitter (yet?), but I did make a lovely bird today to fill with lavender. Oh yes, and a matching lampshade all handmade from Amy Butler fabric. I went to a craft fair on Saturday and decided I need to make some small items as well as lampshades, beanbags, bags… Continue reading Tweet tweet…

Loving the choice of fabric for these big drum lampshades made for a new client yesterday. Cotton lets the light💡 through beautifully and this @ninacampbellltd geometric print is really pretty. A bit of a challenge to line up, especially for a perfectionist like me... 🤣
My goodness, it really feels like spring today! 🌞🌷 I have been busy making with the doors to my workshop wide open which is so lovely.
Echinacea drawing by gilhoolie, just having a play in Photoshop this morning 😊 Still dreaming of spring and looking forward to milder weather and of course the unlockdown!!!
Dreaming of summer and strawberries. Well, just sketching some ideas for lampshades but got distracted! At least it sounds as though there's light at the end of this ever so long tunnel 😊 ✏🍓
I love making lampshades for clients 😊 but have really enjoyed working on some gilhoolie embroidered drums lately. It's so nice to be creative and I know I'm incredibly lucky. This one is on a lovely green @designersguild linen with a hydrangea and a butterfly 🦋 I saw lots of pretty snowdrops on our walk this morning so I'm thinking the next one will feature lots of spring flowers🌷 Client orders to work on first, including an embroidery lampshade commission...🧵
Another happy gilhoolie customer, this time near one of my favourite places in the UK, Bath. Won't it be amazing when we can visit our favourite places again?! We have kind of planned our next visit in our heads, it's good to daydream... 💭😊
